Developed React and React Native insurance applications through ArkusNexus, supporting direct-to-consumer and enterprise sales. My work combined interface delivery, API integration, performance optimisation and accessibility.
Engineering contributions
Web and mobile interfaces
Developed and maintained application interfaces in React and React Native for two sales contexts: direct-to-consumer and enterprise. This involved working with the behaviour and data requirements of the products as well as their presentation.
Performance optimisation
Applied memoisation and custom data-fetching patterns to improve application loading. This work produced the 25% load-time reduction reported in my résumé.
Reusable hooks and API integration
Built reusable hooks for form state and caching, and integrated the applications with REST APIs. These abstractions gave repeated interactions and data access a common implementation across the features that used them.
Accessible user interactions
Implemented semantic HTML and ARIA for web interfaces and screen-reader support across relevant experiences. The focus was on making controls and user flows usable with assistive technology, alongside the visual interface.
Contribution and outcome
Delivered accessible web and mobile product work and reusable application hooks, with a reported 25% reduction in load times through memoisation and data-fetching improvements.
